Several people are reported displaced and scores are missing after fighting erupted near Kodok town in Fashoda County, Upper Nile State.

The incident took place in Kwom Oriny. Akwabayi, Thulong, Agwor and Yony villages in Lul Payam and the latest have driven people away from Aburoc in Fashoda County.

Most of the displaced people are women, children, elderly and people with disability. There are reports of children who ran for safety without their parents or caregivers.

The disaster has created emergency response needs where SSWOCO with limited support from UNICEF provides mainly recreational items and other NFIs to respond to the current situation in Kodok town.

Widows and Orphans Charitable Organization has taken a lead to response to the Psychosocial Support needs of the children affected by this violence crises and awareness creation on hygiene promotion and GBV.
