Experiencing armed conflict during childhood and adolescence poses serious mental health risks
and threats to a child&'s development. Exposure to different types of violence, the duration of the
conflict, and the nature of experienced and witnessed traumatic events are all associated with the
onset and severity of mental disorders among conflict-affected children. War has totally affected
the way children play the way they express themselves. Children are attracted to modeling
weapon of war like tank and gunship.
A child was ask during the PSS activities why he modeling
gun , he said I saw a soldier carrying a gun and shooting. Children nick name a major so I made
my gun to shoot those who will attach me. So this an indicator that children think negatively and
are mentally affected by the traumatic events the witness.
As WOCO we engaged children in PSS activities that encourage peace ,positive relation with other children ,our facilitator work
hard to brain the mentally war and instill peace positive values of forgiveness and unity.
There is a lot to be done to improve the wellbeing of these children.
