WOCO wants to achieve better child nutrition, reduced child labor and dependence on food aids and overall improved food security and resilience among the IDPs and the entire population of Fashoda.

Famine has eased after a significant scale up in the humanitarian response. However, the situation remains dire across the country as 8.3 million people - 75 percent of the population is facing severe food insecurity.

The WFP who is a major food aid provider has indicated its intention to hold its operation in the area.

As WFP is considering a total pull out from Malakal, there are looming concerns that food insecurity may rise with a great toll on women and children.
