Income Generation Activities and Women Empowerment (IGA)
Women have been enduring the magnitude of the ongoing crisis in South Sudan due to their vulnerability, WOCO is engaging women in Income Generation Activities to help them cope up with their stress and provide the necessary needs to their children, groups of business making are being formed, trained and provided with the needed funding and materials to start up their businesses
In 2018 WOCO in partnership with UNICEF South Sudan trained more than 100 foster parents, the training was aiming at providing foster parents especially women with skills of income generation.
WOMEN endure the biggest yoke of displacement and conflict in south Sudan, WOCO is mandated by its core values and ethics to stand for women who are suffering as a result of the humanitarian situation in the already war hit zones in the country, in addition to engaging women in psychosocial support through awareness on GBV risks and other handcraft activities, foster parents and caregivers of the most vulnerable children have been endorsed into Income Generation Activities (IGA) to help them empower themselves financially as this reflects positively on the well being and needs of their in need children.
