South Sudan Joint Response (SSJR) lead has called on the consortium members to look into possibility of resilience and recovery programming in Upper Nile State. Ms. Britt in her first leg to the State Capital Malakal has expressed contentment with the work of the organizations who are implementing humanitarian intervention with the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs fund, administered by the Dutch Relief Alliance (DRA).
Four non-governmental organizations are members of the SSJR consortium in Upper Nile State. These agencies include two international organizations as well as two national organizations. War Child Holland and Plan International are international organizations while WOCO and Smile Again African Development Organization are the national organizations. However, Warchild Holland is the state leader of the consortium.
She stressed though, the needs to streamline interventions to encompass humanitarian, peace and development agenda.
She said, the nexus among humanitarian, peace and development interventions are very critical in achieving and realizing sustainable outcomes of our interventions.
While talking to group of women and men at a Child Friendly Space run by Widows and Orphans Charitable Organization (WOCO), Ms. Britt acknowledged the challenges the displaced persons at the UN established protection of Civilians site go through. She was extremely and especially curious to know what supports then beneficiaries are getting from WOCO and how the supports have help them individually and at family levels. She encouraged the program participants to provide feedbacks to the organizations to improve services provided to them.
